Before I take off on vacation, I wanted to remind you that the Call for
Proposals for AERA is out for next year's conference in New Orleans. Our
CHAT SIG will have three sessions and rountables available. Artin Goncu is
co-program chair with me. You can find Conference information on www.
aera.net. (You will also find 3 select sessions from Montreal on webtv -
video.)

We have some tentative themes. As noted earlier, Vera passed the torch to
Luis as newly elected president, Elvira Souza Lima became vice-president
and will attempt to bring an international
collaborative venture. Eugene Matusov will try to get a newsletter out this
year and put together a website which can be linked to xmca
Carmen Mercado became secretary and our new beloved Treasurer Jennifer
Vandencour reports we are only 7 members short of gaining one more slot (4)
in the program. Please twist some arms and join us or get someone who is
an AERA member to do so, you may contact her to join and there is still
time!!!!! She is at vadebonc who-is-at montana.edu. She needs those of you whose
membership expired to contact her asap, the deadline for membership is this
month I believe.

For those who are new to the list and are not sure about all this, the deal
is that we have a small cultural historical activity theory Special
Interest Group (n=152 with several yet needing to re-join/pay up 5.00) at
AERA (American Educational Research Association) which provides us with a
mechanism to have a mini-XMCA conference every year here in the States, so
with ISCRAT in Europe and others, we get to meet face to face from time to
time....

We will attempt to invite an ISCRAT session/symposium this year to the AERA
program.

Send proposals to me ( and also potential reviewers should be suggested or
volunteers)

Researcher journal for
submission info.
