All of the progress that has been made in shifting and broadening the of
math education is also under attack. Since math educators and
mathematicians have both supported such shifts in curriculum with no
paradigm split as in reading the right and the politicians created their
own scapegoat, "the new, new math" to attack. And again California leads
the way in rolling back progress in math education.
