I found this old collection by Eva very interesting, and thought others
would also find it interesting.

In the first months of 1995 there was a special list, xpractice, in
existence for the purpose of discussing and collaboratively writing an
article on for the Handbook of Child Development. When Arne's postings with
diagrams on signs and object started developing into a series, I placed
them, and related messages, in a special mailbox. I also tried to trace the
thread back to something like a beginning. Even so, some messages had been
lost. It may of course be possible to fish them out of the xlchc
ftp-archives.
