Hi Nate and XMCA-o-files--

Actually, I suggested that Nate put that intro to a luria collection on the
xmca WEB PAGe, and I hope it doesn't clog anyone's mailbox. I have gotten
a couple of flags indicating people having difficulty getting off the system
so I fret about long messages.

Concerning the Luria intro itself. Thanks, Nate, for posting it, despite the
confusion undoubtedly caused by me rushing too fast.

As I commented in the note to Nate, anyone interested in the work of Luria and
the life circumstances in which he worked should check our the English version
of his autobio called *The making of mind* for which I wrote an intro (which
overlaps that you have seen) and an epilogue (which does not overlap anything
you are likely to have seen).

I think that *The Making of Mind* serves as an excellent intro to the Russian
version of cultural-historical psychology. It doesn't have all that Bill B was
asking for in his recent not concerning an intro text "with all the basic stuff,"
but it has a lot and is a hell of a lot easer to read than Construction Zone!

Concerning sources for "basic stuff" There are a couple of chapters in *Cultural
Psychology* that deal with the basic stuff, before trying to take some baby
steps "forward".
