Where to start?

Nate's posting reminds me that I wish to make the following request. What
exists for introductory material, a single paper perhaps, about vygotsky,
zoped, etc.? I am looking for something that would be good for grad
students in education, something that would be well grounded in their
perspective. Chapter 4 "Basic concepts..." of 'the construction zone' has
been the closest I have come, but that is still a bit technical, presuming
quite a bit from the reader. Any suggestions?
