The 11th hour of the 11th day . . . 80 years ago.

Hello Everyone,

The 11th of November doesn't have the shock value in the U.S. that it
does in all of Europe. However, America was certainly no less affected
by the "war to end all wars" - a war that ended 80 years ago with over 10
million dead and all of Europe on the brink of revolution.

I've created a small "memorial" of sorts as part a class lecture I'm
giving tonight. At 11am today, you might want to take a moment and
transcend the local insanity of our modern lives and reflect on the event
that is arguably the root of it all.

It is said that those for forget the past are condemned to relive it.
Those word of warning are perhaps most appropriate for a generation
confident that we have "rationalized war away" - just as diplomats
thought they had done a century ago.

Lord grant us your peace and your justice,

Edouard
