Folks, At the risk of sounding redundant, Donaldo Macedo has a chapter in
Literacies of Power entitled Educational Reform: Literacy & Poverty Pimps.
It addresses this subject of imposters and is worth reading. I also
recommend the last issue of TABOO before it folded (Fall 1997) which was
dedicated to Paulo Freire. There is an excellent article (Power &
Knowledge: Colonialism in the Academy by Teresa Cordova) on this subject
as well among Latino educators which is worth reading as the author
categorizes folks who are "en la lucha" (in the struggle) and imposters.

You might also want to read "Tenure Battle" by A. Goodgirl also in TABOO
Volume 1 1996. (Peter Lang Publishers)

Any of us who are sincerely concern about democratization of schools and
society can identify with the battles which must be fought in the academy.
