Perhaps it might help xmca folks from south of our border to know
that to be accused of being a "feminist" rings a bit too close to
a multiple murder on Dec. 6 about 5 years ago of 12 female students
who were studying to be engineers at the Ecole Polytechnique in Montreal. Marc
Lepine, the murderer, separated these young women from a group of male students
in a class, shouted that they were "a bunch of feminists", and gunned them
down.
So to my Canadian ears, "feminist" has many layers of meaning.

I loved the presession, and look forward to another- in Montreal. Maybe
it should be labeled: CHAT: A Proud Bunch of Feminists

Justa thought
