That was a wonderful posting about best practices. One clarification. The
point about the mentor having expertise in the content area is based upon
(incomplete) observations about the mentor having legitimacy in the action
research enterprise. Esp. in high school, folks seem to value someone who
'really knows the content' (not a quote). I think this is an instance of
the 'teacher as purveyor of knowledge' ideology.
I'm trying to emerge from a little mental fuzziness - is this instance of
ideology what one would call a "script"?
