Dear Naoki--

I really enjoyed talking with you in Japan. Yes, we didn't ahve time to
talk about vey many issues.

I think that when Urie Bronfenbrenner introduced his ecological model of
circles (micro-meso-macro) in the 70s, it was a useful bridge to
contextaulism for many cognitive researchers who were puzzled by
cognitivism. However, this attempt to introduce has been done within
cognitivism itself (as you rightly continue showing in the XMCA discussion)
to deepen its problems and contradictions.

I see a good reason of preserving the micro-meso-macro model for the history
textbooks (like Mike's "Cultural psychology") that may help cognitive
researchers to articulate their doubts in thier approach. But, like you, I
don't see use to apply it to our sociocultural research.
