Hi Mike and everybody--

>Dear Eugene-- When did you stop being 60 and very serious? :-)

You are probably right -- I was born 60 reading Vygotsky all 9 months of my
embrionic development.

In several presentations by European scholars, they made a point that
cross-European statstics about youth unemployment is often misleading. What
is considered to be unemplyed in one country is not in another. For
example, non-paid apprenticeship is considered to be unemployement in Spain
but not in France.

We (adult society) have created huge age segregation and problems of "them"
joining us. I observed in California high school students particiapting in
fast track private colleges run by Russian immigrants for adults and
integration of youth adults in this educational institution. Take away
segregation and categories "childhood" and "adolescence" would disappear.

I met Arkady Mardolis at the conference. I think he may help. His e-mail
is margolis who-is-at edupsych.msk.su
