Yes, this was what I meant.

I think I agree with you. I think the classroom arrangements should
flexible: 1) for a teacher to support a variety or classroom activity
designs; 2) for a diversity of teachers using different educational
philosophies from traditional (lecturing, dittos) to children-run (a lot of
hands-on activities) and collaborative (group projects and discussions);
and finally 3) for students themselves who may want to rearrange the space
to make it more comfortable private and communal (I was thinking about
something like Eva's example of "coffee chat room" for students). It is
also interesting question whether school space should allow for two or more
classes to meet for their learning joint activities. Also open space
around school can be also arranged to host learning activities.

What do you think?
