I think that an interesting rephrasing of your question is:

does human knowledge have anything at all to do with what humans experience?

because I think that there can be a difference between what a person
experiences and what others might say happens to that person. Maturana and
Varela in their books: "Autopoiesis and Cognition" and "The Tree of
Knowledge" address this in some interesting ways.
