Alternatively, we can compile a list of acronyms that are
frequently occurring on xmca, and a new xmca subscriber will automatically
receive that list; and of course, that list will need regular updating...
now, who's to do this? Cheryl? or some voluteer? someone who's around
here long enough to be an expert in xmca acronyms :-) ... just some
ideas...

Considering myself a new subscriber to xmca, I would like to comment on the
acronyms difficulty. If a discussion group is consistent in its expression of
the value of inclusive, diverse discussion, then even newcomers will feel
comfortable asking about what they don't know. If I recall the original
interchange, someone requested a clarification of CHAT and received several
different, reasonably consistent answers without any snide or belittling
comments about the questioner's lack of knowledge. That more than I usually
hope for when I inch up to the fire of a new group's camp.
