I learned today that any time you visit a web site, you leave behind
information about yourself that can be used in various ways (e.g., the
development of mailing lists). If you want to learn the information that
you have electronically disclosed about yourself, go to
www.13x.com/cgi-bin/cdt/snoop.pl which is the web site of the Center for
Democracy and Technology. The site will link you to "The Anonymizer" which
is a site that strips away your personal information when you pass
through--to get there directly go to www.anonymizer.com.

For details, see the Dallas Morning News business section, p. 2, Mon., July
8 (they've got an on-line version, I think).
