On critical theories of affect and critical versions of psychoanalysis,
I highly recommend the British Journal "Free Associations". Its center
of mass is British object relations psychoanalysis and group process
theories, but with increasing international contributions and thoughtful
applications to social problems. None of these theories is adequately
historical, but the FA group is easily one of the more critical.
