Gordon asks whether knowledge has the same meaning at different depths of
focus. The answer to this probably depends on whether we think there are
different kinds of knowledge - mundane vs esoteric, common sense vs
uncommon sense - or whatever metaphors we'd use. I expect that whenever
our lenses involve technolgoy that augments everyday perception, a new
kind of language comes along, which uses nominalisation to construct a new
kind of discourse - and so an/other kind of knowledge. But is it another
order of knowledge? By agumenting technology, I'd include any kind of
writing.
