I find this message Francoise very interesting:

>Hi Angel, I do not mean to sound overly snobish and critical, but the
*e* at the end of my name makes a BIG difference that I cherish. I am
a WOMAN! (Francois is a MAN's name, Francois*e* a WOMAN's).

In the Brasil we utilize - generally - the character "a" to
distinguish men and women: examples: Carla (woman) x Carlos (man); Renato
(man) x Renata (woman), etc... But, Eugene is woman or man?... here we are
in front of cultural differences...

I raise its question to show what the internet dont propicie the
whole understanding of cultures and of conceptes of members of distincts
cultures... nevertheless this facte dont impede what we have to exchange
experiences...
One of human capacity is to create - and I am seeing what we are
trying create conditions to all participate of ours discussions - essaying
news forms of communication... Thus, we are exercising ours humanity (macro
level) maintaining our singularity...

I think what this questions too are related with any thoughts of
Robin about learning process. When the teacher meet whit the pupils he dont
transmites culture, but he exercices culture - they made culture... This
relation is insert in the cultural context and this is one appropriate space
to re-make it
