Hello xmca=B4ers!

We are starting a new experimental learning group with
4-8 years old kids and we are trying to construct developmental
environments. I just started to wonder what possibilities
computers might offer for us. Some educational programs for kids
sure have high quality, but what are their developmental potentials?
E.g. kids play with programs like "Sammy=B4s Science House" eagerly, but
I think it trains quite mechanical skills of classification without
revealing the basis of classification (ready-made categories, simple
associations etc.)

What kind of experiences do you have in using computers with kids of
this age group? What about developmental effects beside specific skills?
How to integrate computers into developmental environment?
I know that Mike has worked a long time with Fith Dimension.
Do you have kids 4-8 years in the Fith Dimension?
