Have you considered Post-structural feminism (Lather);
Science & philosophy (Doll); and works of James Sears.
Debbie.

My response to:
Is there a book or article anyone knows of that
presents postmodern (or even just post-Cartesian) ideas in a
way that
a bright and motivated teacher can find accessible? I'd like
to know
about such a piece myself! God bless the seekers after wisdom!

Mr. J. Lemke: I am a middle grades teacher in Vermont. I have
read some of
Giroux's work, and I need to know more about the application
of
post-modernist cultural theory and its relationship (or lack
of) to public
education. I find post-modernist theory intriguing, but
confusing. How do
the various tenets of both SUPPORT and DISTORT the endeavor
to teach and
practice democratic ideals as they relate to education? Please
respond if
you are so disposed. There seems to be no one up here I can
engage in
discourse . . . their eyes just glaze over. Linny
