Actually both phosgene and the Final Solution were products of WW2.
Mustard gas was used in WW1, but I do not know whether it was developed
specifically during or for action in that conflict. On the other hand
phosgene was developed specifically for action in WW2. I happen to know
someone personally who worked on the phosgene project.
