I'm not sure if Jim Wertsch is currently on xmca. I forwarded your message
to him in case he isn't.
In the mean time, I suspect Jim doesn't mean "teleology" in that sense of the
word, but purpose in a much more local sense of the term, and purpose as they
are put forth by persons in activity or those which emerge from it.
