Hello xmca-er's,
For those of you who have friends who are interested in
subscribing to our list, I will enclose the most recent set of
instructions on how to do so. Regarding Angel's message about
people trying to subscribe and never hearing anything back, teh
bug in the system is that unless people make specific mistakes,
their messages are lost who knows where, and do not ever get
seen by me. Please tell your friends to try again, following the
instructions closely.

Sincerely,
Cheryl Karp

Dear Potential Subscriber:

Our new list, xmca, is currently up and running.

There is a TWO-STEP PROCEDURE FOR
BECOMING A MEMBER OF THE DISCUSSION.
PLEASE READ AND FOLLOW CAREFULLY!

1) Send a message to xmca-request who-is-at weber.ucsd.edu
with the single word, subscribe, in the BODY of
the message. (PLEASE NOTE- who-is-at WEBER.UCSD.EDU, NOT
who-is-at UCSD.EDU). Also, make sure to mail to xmca-request,
not xmca. Be sure to leave the subject line completely
blank (no characters at all).

In reply, you will receive a request from procmail who-is-at ucsd.edu
to send a message to xmca-request who-is-at weber.ucsd.edu with the words
self-description of (your name) on the SUBJECT line. (AGAIN, NOTE
THE who-is-at WEBER.UCSD.EDU)

2) Send a message to xmca-request who-is-at weber.ucsd.edu as instructed.
In the body of the message you should include a
self description of not longer than one screenful,
which says where you work or study, what general
themes you are interested in, what theorists or
researchers inspire your interest and efforts,
and any other information that would help others
on the list to get a general idea of who you are.

This message will appear on xmca and will be
your first contribution to the list. After this
message, you may write or not write as you
please. When you leave the list, your self
description will be removed from the active
archive.

This procedure is now in effect.

If you have any questions or problems, please
write to us at xfamily who-is-at weber.ucsd.edu.
