Hello all; This is an update on the Interamerican Conference on Activity
Theory (theme: VygotskyUs legacy of the historical-cultural approach)
taking place in Havana, Cuba, Jan. 16-18, 1996 (if you have not received
information about this conference, please let me know). I spoke yesterday
with Gloria Farinas, one of the conference organizers, who is lecturing in
Mexico this month. Good news: She informed me that the plans for the
conference are going well; she stated that they have responded to every
proposal, but recognizing the difficulties in communications with the US,
she asked me to inform her of anyone who submitted a proposal but has
not heard from them. If that is the case, please let me know right away so
I can call her with your name; or, if you have any other questions about the
conference that she could answer, also let me know through this medium.

I also want to remind you that there will be an education conference
immediately following (Jan 19-20), if interested: please send me your fax
number so I can forward the information.

For any US citizens attending the conference, I suggest that you contact
Marazul Tours (Robert Guild: 1-800-223-5334) to secure lodging, visa,
etc.; for those of you interested in traveling via Mexico, they also have
reasonable rates available, or make your own arrangements.
