Dear Michael Cole,
Peg Syverson suggested that I write to you for recommendations on sources
about play in CMC. I am writing a dissertation in the field of computers
and writing about the significance of the kinds of play in the lectronic
data from a number of sections of a writing course at U. of Texas/Austin.
Peg is on my committee. I have found quite a bit of material on play,
mostly by anthropologists, but very little dealing with CMC, hypertext, and
so on. I am also interested in how play and conflict intersect. If you can
recommend any sources, including e-list archives, I'd be grateful. Thanks.
