I’ve been trying to get an overview of work on trauma and trauma-informed pedagogy to relate to my work with students in a community college, who frequently confide horrible experiences to me and who opushed for our collective research to focus on adverse childhood experiences. This has gone new directions because of the pandemic. I have been thinking a lot about how CHAT doesn’t focus enough on the affective-volitional aspects of development but how a more holistic, Vygotskian approach would be an improvement on some of the mainstream work on trauma.

I think the fit between what we’re doing would be beautiful! We just need at least one more person looking at similar issue who’s interested!

It sounds great. Let’s see another proposals. Here are the rules:
“Session submissions for symposia must have a minimum of three (3) participants. Session submissions for symposia are limited to six (6) participants for 90-minute sessions and seven (7) participants for 120-minute sessions. The number of participants includes presenters and any discussants. These limits are in addition to the chair” (Call for submissions, p. 7).
My presentation would have three parts: Emotion in the works of LSV; current theoretical contributions for a socio-cultural perspective on emotion and lines for future research.
My own recent work is about emotional education but I guess the topic would cover topics like trauma.
