March 2016 Take 2 Feature
Dr. Mollie Blackburn's article, "(Re)Writing One's Self as an Activist Across Schools and Sexual and Gender Identities: An Investigation of the Limits of LGBT-Inclusive and Queering Discourses," was a result of her serving as the keynote speaker for the JoLLE@UGA 2014 Winter Conference. Her article resonates as powerfully now as it did then, both during her keynote address and in the article's Spring 2014 Issue publication. In this article, Mollie and her participant, Jared, queer what it means to be a LGBT activist through personal and theoretical explorations of teacher and ally identities.
