Larry,

Not sure if we are talking about the same one, but there are the 10
Oxherding pictures (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ten_Bulls), the first of
which is called "In search of the ox". The ox is often considered to be a
metaphor for the self (note that the ox is departs in screen 7 and is
entirely gone in screens 8, 9, and 10).

Coincidentally, I just happen to have spent much of yesterday here in Seoul
searching for a depiction of these. (what I got instead was an invitation
to a chesa ceremony by an old man who was honoring his deceased mother. I
accepted).
